Join us on the road to net zero emissions

Decarbonise and Revolutionise.

Seacarb is an Australian company that has patented technology to capture CO2 and produce carbonate minerals for cement production.

We can fully decarbonise cement production, a notoriously hard-to-abate process through our carbon dioxide removal technology

The Challenge

Concrete is the second-most consumed substance in the world, after water. Each year, more than 4 billion tonnes of cement are produced, accounting for around 8% of global CO2 emissions.

The race to net zero is particularly challenging for the cement industry. This is because limestone, the main input for cement and the chief culprit of emissions, needs to be heated at very high temperatures and releases significant amounts of CO2 in the process.

To bring the cement sector in line with the Paris Agreement on climate change, its annual emissions will need to fall by at least 16% by 2030.

The Opportunity

Seacarb can make net zero become a reality through absorbing millions of tonnes of CO2 per year and producing high quality minerals; enabling the production of carbon negative cement.

Cement and concrete are essential to build reliable and resilient structures, such as residential buildings, public infrastructure and roads, so the opportunity to decarbonise is monumental.

Unlike the high-emitting calcination process seen in typical cement production, Seacarb’s mineral precipitation process does not require heat or significant amounts of energy and does not have any process emissions.

At scale, Seacarb can revolutionise the cement industry and our technology can also be leveraged to offset emissions for other hard-to-abate industries.

With your support we can scale Seacarb’s disruptive technology; making waves across the public and private sector alike.
